British-born actress Emily Blunt is still having a hard time adjusting to her new American citizenship, and she just can not stop talking about it. Blunt, who is promoting her new crime thriller, Sicario, got in trouble few weeks ago for saying that becoming American might have been a mistake. At the time, she told The Hollywood Reporter:
“I became an American citizen recently, and that night, we watched the Republican debate, and I thought, ‘This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?'”
In a new interview with the Sunday Times, Blunt, 32, stated that she became American for tax reasons. She said:
“It’s mainly for tax reasons. I didn’t want to renounce my Queen.”
The Golden Globe Award winner added:
“You have to learn all about the Constitution. You can’t be a habitual drunk, you can’t be on a guerrilla squad and you can’t be a prostitute, which is a shame.”
After her latest comments, Blunt, who has a very unique sense of humor, will probably have to apologize again.
